Subject: TABOR
Thank you to everyone who has contacted your
legislator about TABOR (AJR 55) asking them to vote against it when it comes

Many of you have told me that you have contacted your legislators,
but I know there are many more of you who have made contact and haven't let me
know. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you have called, emailed
or snail mailed your State Representative and State Senator, please let me
know.
If a legislator says to us that they haven’t been hearing from AFSCME members,
we want to have the proof that they have been!!!
If you have not contacted your legislators yet - PLEASE DO SO!!! When it comes to
legislation affecting AFSCME members it doesn't get much more close to home -
this resolution would be devastating for public employees and the state as
whole.
To contact your legislators go to

or call the legislative hotline at 1-800-362-9472 and give them your name, address
and tell them you are with AFSCME. Then say you want them to give the
following message to your state senator and state representative. The message
is: Please Vote No on AJR 55.
Note: If the legislative aides
tell you that they will not be in session until January 2005 or they have not
heard of AJR 55, do not fret. Sometimes they are
the last to know about a session coming up. The aides will still record
your opposition to AJR 55 and pass that information on to your
legislators. And if you call the hotline at night and the voice mail is
not on, please let me know. We have been having problems with the
legislative office who controls the hotline. (Go
figure that it is one of our opponents).
